Sadly, we recently heard that one of our long-standing highly respected members, Diedre Lester, passed away on Friday 20th June 2025 , just short of her 94th birthday. Diedre had been poorly and in hospital for quite some time, but it had been hoped that she’d be well enough to move into a care home shortly; alas that was not to be.
Diedre’s connection with the breed began some 60 plus years ago, when her affix ‘Brocker’ came into being; in the years since, she was one of the leading Welsh Terrier breeders, was also a Championship Show judge until very recently and, during all that time, was a Club committee member and latterly Patron of the Club.
We send our condolences to her friends and family at this sad time. Funeral details will follow at a later date.

4.7.25 Further to our previous message, we can now let you know that Diedre Lester’s funeral will be held on Tuesday, 22nd July 2025 at 14.30 pm at the Great Glen Crematorium, 9 London Rd, Great Glen, Leicester LE8 9DJ.
